For this Summer, Too Faced is revamping its popular Melted Liquified Metallic Lipsticks by adding a range of frosty metallic shades. Available in 8 colors, the Melted Metal Liquified Metallic Lipstick ($25 CAD) promises a multi-faceted shine with an ever so pigmented formulation. Today I have swatches for a couple of shades from the line, read on by clicking.......
Packaging:
The Melted Metals come in the same packaging as the original Melted lipstick. The gloss tube is squeezable and the product dispenses from a flocked slanted tip. The applicator is fairly precise, especially for applying the metallic shades but for really clean lines, you probably still have to bring in a lip liner.
Formulation:
Melted Metallic Violet is a fairly sheer bright orchid. Interestingly, the metallic particles in this one are barely visible. If I didn't know, I wouldn't have guessed that this is a Metal shade. The application is slightly uneven due to the sheer formulation, but this shade didn't bleed as much as the original Melted liquified lipsticks. The wear is just ok, the sheerer, glossier finish makes it very prone to smudging and transferring.
Melted Metallic Peony is a frosty metallic soft rose packed with golden metallic shimmers. This one is quite pigmented and as compared to Melted Metallic Violet, this shade has a lot less shine and thus wears slightly better. The shade still transfers during eating and drinking. It's worth noting that Violet wears comfortably with no feelings of dryness while Peony becomes slightly drying after a few hours.

Metallic/shimmery/frosty lip colors are not really my thing so I am feeling kind of ambivalent towards this collection. Melted Metallic Peony is packed to the brim with shimmer particles while Melted Metallic Violet barely had any. The formulation of the more metallic Peony is a lot more long-wearing while the glossier Violet is easily transferable.
