For May, New York Color challenged us to get inspired by the iconic pop artist Andy Warhol and create a colorful and fun look for summer. The first things that came to my mind are the famous silkscreen prints featuring big names like Marilyn Monroe, Debbie Harry, and Elizabeth Taylor. So, I used some solid, bright colors for a simple pop art-inspired look. To read a bit more about the two NYC products I used, click.......
For the look, I opted for two products from New York Color. The City Proof 24Hr Waterproof Eyeshadow in "655 Madison Square Park" ($4.99 CAD) is a medium metallic green shadow crayon. The pigmentation is decent and the formulation does last a long time without creasing.
For the lips, I used a bright neon pink Expert Last Lip Color in "477 Forever Fuchsia" ($1.99 CAD). For a $2 lipstick, the formulation is amazing. The pigmentation is intense and the product feels creamy and hydrating. I actually dabbed a bit of the lipstick on my cheeks and used it as a blush. To finish the look, I used a simple black liner to define the eyes.
I'm quite satisfied with the final look. It's not something I would wear out, but it fits the theme nicely. And finally, I present to you my very own Andy Warhol-esque exhibit that I made with an online app.
