If you've been following my reviews for a while, you know I am not big on liquid liners. I find that they generally get a bit crusty when dried so the wear isn't as flawless and comfortable; however, I really enjoyed the original Ink Liner in "Trooper" (that I reviewed last summer) as the formulation manages to stay reasonably smooth. So I was pretty excited when Kat Von D added several colorful additions to the Ink Liner line, including a modern white and a soft periwinkle. Today I have swatches and reviews of a few shades to share with you. Read on by clicking......

The Ink Liners are felt tip liquid liners. The felt tip is quite flexible (perhaps a bit too flexible) and the point is very thin so it's possible to create nice fine lines.

"Bukowski" is a hunter green, "Bosch" is a mossy green, and "Nietzsche" is a periwinkle blue. All three shades swatch really nicely and opaquely on the arm but on the lids, there is quite a bit of variation.
"Nietzsche" becomes very sheer on the lid and because the color dries quickly, it becomes difficult to apply additional coats without making the liner chunky and patchy.
Both "Bosch" and "Bukowski", on the other hand, are much more pigmented and they apply more smoothly. The level of pigmentation of these two shades are not comparable to a standard black liner, but they are decent for the colors that they are. The formulation for all these liners is very waterproof and smudge-proof, providing all-day wear.

There is a quite some variation between the shades. "Nietzsche" is sheer on the lids and its formulation is a bit chunky and patchy. "Bukowski" and "Bosch", though, are both nicely pigmented and smooth, perfect for when you want a little color on the lids but don't want to go all out.
