For Spring 2015, available this December, L'Oreal has released a line of 24 hour-wear Infallible 2 Step Lipcolors ($13.99 CAD). These new high-intensity lip colors features a liquid, fast-drying full coverage color and a moisturizing balm. To see some swatches and my thoughts on these new lip colors, click.......
Packaging:
The Infallible 2-Step Lipcolors are duo-ended. On one side you have the lip color with a pointed doe-foot applicator. On the other end is a twist up moisturizing balm.
Formulation:
The lip color side features a lightweight, opaque formulation that dries very quickly. The pigmentation is incredibly intense and I find the trick is to apply a semi-thick coat and try not to purse your lips together to prevent patchiness. Once the lip color is dry, it will feel quite tight on the lips but the balm will nicely keep the lips hydrated.
The longevity is quite impressive. There is absolutely zero transferring. The lip color looked flawless for about six hours, during which I did lots of drinking and had a greasy meal. After six hours, I saw small bits of color chipping off. Nothing too serious but I wouldn't say this is a 24 hour lip color. The balm needs to be reapplied every couple or hour or so to prevent dryness.
113 Flamboyant Flamingo: Pale pink with silver sparkles. |
207 Perpetual Apricot: Warm tangerine with golden shimmers. |
215 Raisin Revival: Dark pink plum with no shimmers. |
211 Red Infallible: Bold red with no shimmers. |
Both the intensity and the wear of these colors are amazing. The colors are actually quite difficult to remove but I recommend a cleansing oil and a good scrubbing. Also, it's important to bring a balm when wearing this lip color because your lips will feel dry after the balm wears out.
