For 2015,
Essie has released a luxurious matte polish collection called the
Cashmere Mattes. Full of soft and cozy knit-inspired colors, the collection features six matte shades available this January. To see some swatches and my thoughts on the formulation, click.......
Wrap Me Up:
Described as a "whisper soft pink", this is a sheer pinkish white matte with no shimmers. The formulation is a bit thin and requires at least three coats for opacity. The formulation is very quick-drying but it's not self-leveling so even after three coats there are noticeable strokes and ridges. It's definitely beneficial to finish the polish with a thick coat of matte top coat.

All Eyes on Nudes:
This is a beautiful matte camel nude. The formulation is slightly more pigmented than Wrap Me Up but still a challenge to work with.

Just Stitched:
A cool-tone pale pink with subtle blue shimmers, this one was also very sheer. The blue shimmers are a lot more noticeable in the bottle but on the nails they are hardly visible.

Comfy in Cashmere:
A taupe-y mauve with very subtle blue shimmers, this one has a slightly easier formulation to work with, although I still had to use three coats.

Coat Couture:
A lovely bluish grey with blue shimmers, Coat Couture has a more even and pigmented formulation. With careful application you can get a nice coverage with two coats. I think this is a lovely color for the colder winter weathers.

Spun in Luxe:
This is a dark inky black with a splash of blue shimmers. Pigmentation is great and formulation is rich and easy to work with.

Overall:
A couple of these colors are really great but the lighter shades are definitely a bit tough to work with because the sheer formulation dries too quickly for the polish to level out nicely. My picks are Coat Couture and Spun in Luxe. Which is your favorite?
