Nars Holiday 2014 Collection Nail Polish: Review and Swatches
For holiday 2014, NARS has released a beautiful makeup collection called the Laced with Edge Collection. As part of the range are three gorgeous molten metallic Nail Polishes ($23 CAD each) and today I have swatches and reviews of all three shades to share with you. To read more, click.......
Sherwood:
Described as a "shimmering violet rose", Sherwood is an incredible light brown with strong pink/mauve undertones. The formulation is smooth and pigmented, creating a wonderful metallic effect for the nails. The drying time is decent and I used two coats in the swatches below.

Barents Sea:
An electric metallic blue, Barents Sea is a total stunner. Rich and pigmented, this lovely shade as opaque in two coats. The finish was a tad dull (ie. latex-y) compared to the other two shades so if you want to bring out more of the metallic shine, use a top coat.

Algonquin:
A sparkling lilac with a sprinkle of lavender and silver iridescent flakes, Algonquin is a unique shimmer polish. The color is soft and I'd imagine this is the what woodland fairies would wear on their nails. The formulation is a bit sheer but it builds nicely with the second coat.

Overall:
Such a lovely trio! I think both Algonquin and Sherwood are very unique colors and worth checking you if you like more sophisticated and subdued shades on your tips. Barents Sea, although stunning, is definitely a shade I've seen before (China Glaze's Frostbite comes immediately to mind).

Availability:
Available at Holt Renfrew, Murale, and select Sephoras.
