Talk about fancy holiday palettes! The Tarte Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Palette ($42 USD or $50 CAD) for Holiday 2014 is a gorgeous five-color blush set that comes in a parisian-inspired evening clutch. Aside from the classy packaging, all five shades of blush are brand new and exclusive to the palette. So if you are a big fan of the Amazonian Blushes, don't miss out on this one and check out some swatches by clicking......
Packaging:
The blush palette comes in a gold metallic clutch with some lavender printed detailing on the outside. The front of the clutch also comes with two removable girly bobby pins studded with pearls and crystals. The clutch opens when you press in the "clasp", my clasp is a bit wonky and I feel like the quality of the clasp itself isn't great so with use it might break or become stuck.
On one flap of the clutch is a large mirror and on the other are the blushes. The blush pans are glued to a piece of dark blue plastic which I prefer over cardboard so Tarte definitely scores a point there.
The blushes are generously-sized (4.5g) and they all have the classic Amazonian Clay design pressed onto the surface. A removable protective clear plastic sheets has the names of the sheets printed on it.

Breathless: A matte beige with a slight tint of pink, this one is definitely an interesting shade. It's actually kind of hard to evaluate the pigmentation because the shade is so similar to my skin tone. However, the texture did feel slightly chalky compared to the other shades. This is probably my least favorite from the palette not because I'm don't like neutral blush tones but because this is just too neutral. I'd say it's probably the foundation shade for NC30 or NC35; it really doesn't show up unless you have extremely pale skin or very dark skin.
Embraced: This is a gorgeous plummy rose shimmer. I am really not a big fan of shimmery blushes but the formulation of this one made me fall in love! It's so soft and creamy and the pigmentation is incredible, a little goes a long way!
Whimsy: I love me a good matte baby pink and this one really hits the spot! Pigmented, soft, and easily blendable, Whimsy is the perfect everyday blush, it gives the cheeks just the right amount of flush.
Bashful: This one is a soft peach with some very subtle shimmers. Great pigmentation and superb formulation, I think this would work great for all skin tones, especially a glowy olive tone!
Irreplaceable: This one is a darker peachy rose with a matte finish. Formulation wise, this is much better than Breathless. The pigmentation is very good as well, when I swatched it with my fingers, I picked up a lot of color with no effort at all.
Longevity:
Infused with Amazonian Clay, these blushes are fade-proof and promise to last up to 12 hours. I haven't been able to test that claim but these wear pretty great. I have oily skin and these stay put for at least six hours before fading.

Overall:
Packaging-wise the palette is very beautiful. I personally always prefer something simple but I think a lot of collectors would appreciate the fancy design. Formulation and color wise, four out of five shades are phenomenal so this one gets two big thumbs up! I'd say this is a must-have if you love the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes!
