The arrival of a new season always means the release of a new
Lise Watier Collection and Lise Watier
always comes up with some of the most gorgeous, cohesive, and well-thought out collections (see
Summer 2014 and
Fall 2014 Collections). The theme for the limited edition
Winter 2014 Collection is the aurora borealis, so all the items in the collection capture the gorgeous natural phenomenon. To see some swatches and read about each product, click.......
Palette Aurora Eyeshadows ($43 CAD):
This is a gorgeous palette featuring six metallic shadows, each super creamy and pigmented (except for the dark blue, which is very creamy but lacks opacity). The palette has a duo-chrome blue purple finish decorated with multi-colored glitters (that don't fall off, thankfully), mimicking the aurora borealis. The colors are all super metallic but none come off too sparkly or shimmery, they almost have a semi-matte finish, which makes them super wearable.

Aurora Celestial Light Powder ($36 CAD):
This is a light-weight pale pink highlighting powder. The baked powder is dome-shaped with swirls of various colors. The powder gives the cheeks and face a luminous glow. The formulation is incredibly soft and creamy, but not overly shimmery or sparkly. The packaging is identical to that of the shadow palette, except a lot smaller.

Haute Lumiere High Shine Lip Gloss in "Aurora:
This is a sheer hot pink lip gloss with a light-weight, non-sticky formulation. The gloss is very shiny but like most glosses, it only stays around for a couple of hours. The cool thing about this guy though, is the fact that it comes with its own LED light, which automatically turns on when the cap is unscrewed. You wouldn't think it's very useful but it actually lights up your lips really well, allowing a more precise application.

Aurora Iridescent Eyeliner ($22 CAD):
This is a metallic purple liquid eyeliner (I used it in my
purple fairy Halloween look). It applies pigmented and dries reasonably quick. It isn't waterproof but it is smudge-proof. The applicator is a millimeter-wide brush so you can make some very fine lines with it!

Multifunction Powder Brush (Part of the 4-Piece Holiday Brush Set $69 CAD):
I don't have the official info for this brush yet but I believe this is a limited edition fan brush designed to be used with the Aurora Celestial Light Powder. The handle of the brush has the same blue purple metallic duo-chrome design and the bristles are so soft and fluttery.
Overall:
This is a beautiful collection. The stars for me are the shadow palette and the highlighting powder. Lise Watier's powder products have superb formulation, always so creamy and pigmented. The collection also includes two individual Iridescent Eyeshadows with a cool duo-chrome effect. So keep an eye out for those as well when the collection releases in November this year.
