For Fall 2014, Shu Uemura has launched the first volume of it's limited edition Vision of Beauty collection, a series of annual collections created for Shu fans to "explore makeup as an artistic expression". This year's theme, aka Vision of Beauty Vol.1- Brave Beauty, is a "tribute to women as modern day warriors". The collection is filled with a kaleidoscope of colors and textures and today I have a few of the Rouge Unlimited Lipsticks ($36 CAD) to share and review for you all. The Brave Beauty Rouge Unlimited Lipsticks come in semi transparent plastic lipstick tubes. Both the cap and the bottom portion of the lipstick are adorned with brushstrokes of orange, red, and champagne. The packaging of these manages to be cute, chic, and luxurious all at the same time.
Formulation:
The Rouge Unlimited lipsticks have an unbelievably lightweight and moisturizing formulation. The lipstick almost melts upon application as it glides ever so smoothly on the lips. The formulation of all three colors are sheer but buildable and they all have a lovely and natural shiny finish.
Because of the extremely moisturizing formulation, the lipstick doesn't really cling well to the lips and wears off in around two to three hours.
Fuchsia: "A hot pink shade that thunders with irresistible appeal"- this is a bubbly light barbie pink that's super fun and youthful.
Maroon: "A rebellious rouge for a more sultry femininity"- this one is a very wearable warm brick red with the most delicious pigmentation and shine.
Orange: "Adventurous orange for your reckless side"- this is a bright yellow orange, not for the faint of heart. The pigmentation is slightly sheer and patchy but with enough layers an even application can be achieved.
I love the formulation of these, they are moisturizing and lightweight and reminds me very much of Revlon Lip Butters. The pigmentation is semi-sheer but buildable. The wear could be improved upon but that packaging.... amazing!
