Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain Review and Swatches
Now that summer is almost over and most brands have released their Fall collections, I can safely say that my new favorite lip products are definitely the ColorStay Moisture Stains from Revlon. I have swatched four shades in the past months but today I want to bring you more! I have swatched six more shades (there are two more lighter nudes from the collection that I weren't too interested in), so if you want to see some pictures of how each looks on the lips, click.......
Packaging:
The Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stains come in very sleek and modern rectangular black lip gloss tubes. The side panels are transparent so you can see the product color. The doe-foot applicator has a wider/flatter paddle-like design that helps with precise and even application.

Formulation:
The Moisture Stains have a very unique formulation in that it's not quite a gloss and it's not quite a stain. The first time you use it, you may notice that the formulation can be quite thick and gloopy and I admit, this is not a lip product that you can just apply in a dash and expect it to look fabulous. My tip for application is to apply in thin layers (on bare lips, not over a lip balm) and really press the product into the lips with the wide doe-foot applicator. The pigmentation and shine will build as you apply one or more extra coats.
The darker shades will leave lips noticeably stained even after the gloss wears off (two to three hours, depending on how much eating and drinking you do). The product feels incredibly lightweight and non-sticky and it's actually quite hydrating.

Shades:
India Intrigue: This one is a shimmery deep pink with a slight purple tint. The shimmers are fairly subtle unless you are under bright sunlight.

Rio Rush: Bright hot pink with subtle shimmers.

Barcelona Nights: This one is a non-shimmery bright pink. It has a translucent but pigmented finish.

Parisian Paris: A non-shimmery purple-ish burgundy, this one is very vampy. The color applied a bit more patchy compared to the other shades and I find this very hard to pull off.

New York Scene: This is a gorgeous non-shimmery deep red with a tad bit of brown undertone. I think this is a perfect fall and winter red.

Stockholm Chic: This one is a shimmery reddish brown. It's a comparatively neutral color that's easy to pull off but I think it will more likely attract those with a more sophisticated taste.

Shanghai Sizzle: An eye-catching orangish red with subtle shimmers, Shanghai Sizzle is hands down the most saturated color from the collection. It's such a gorgeous bright red to rock for special occasions.

Cannes Crush: A soft neutral color with no shimmers, this is the color I've been wearing the most often. It's very easy to pull off and virtually goes with any look.

Miami Fever: This one is a non-shimmery orange coral. It's an easy way to rock out the orange lips without committing to a neon orange lippie.

Milan Moment: This is a orange-ish nude with no shimmers. The color does wash me out a bit but it pairs nicely with a bold eye look.

Overall:
I've said it once and I'm not afraid to say it again: I am so in love with these! The finish and colors are beyond comparison and once you figure out the perfect way to apply them, you will not want to reach for any other lip products (seriously)!
