Make Up For Ever's HD Microperfecting Primers, available in seven shades specifically designed to neutralize and highlight different skin tones, is a line of oil-free primers that promises to stabilize foundation for all day wear. Today I will be reviewing "0 Neutral", which is a translucent shade designed for all complexions; to read more about the product and to how well it worked for me, click......
What it is:
-Oil-free formulation preps the skin with a protective film that prevents foundation from penetrating the skin
-Help stabilize foundation and increase wear
-Formulated with silica micro beads that veils imperfections and provides skin with a soft focus effect
-Moisturizes skin with D-Panthenol and glycerine
Formulation & Result:
The formulation of the HD Microperfecting Primer is fairly light and runny, almost like a day moisturizer. The primer glides on smoothly and feels very nice on the skin. The formulation helps make the foundation glide on better and it doesn't have that traditional heavy, silicone-y feel. In terms of blurring pores and diminishing imperfections, though, I didn't notice much difference with the primer. Also I was not impressed with how it handled my excessive sebum production (I have a very oily T-zone). When I paired this with my usual BB Cream and the Make Up For Ever HD Pressed Powder, I actually felt like my skin started becoming shiny sooner than usual.
Overall:
In terms of prepping the skin for foundation, this HD Primer is perfect. However, in terms of oil control and helping foundation last longer, particularly for oily skinned gals, this one was a no go. For someone with drier skin, though, I actually think this one can work really well as it does provide that extra bit of hydration!
