Cloud Vitamin Cream with Retinyl Palmitate: Review

Disclaimer: Product featured was provided for review.
Last month, I had a pleasure of attending a super educational seminar held by Cloud (a skincare brand founded by dermatologist Dr. Gordon Telford based in Victoria, British Columbia) to learn about the Cloud Vitamin Cream ($48). Formulated with retinyl palmitate, a synthetic alternative to vitamin A, the Cloud Vitamin Cream protects the skin from 93% of harmful sun rays and has been proven to reverse signs aging and sun damage. To read more on this interesting product, click......
What it is:
-SPF 23 "sun filter"
-Formulated with retinyl palmitate, a vitamin A derivative that protects skin against the UVA and UVB spectrums
-Highly absorbable and water/sweat proof
-Protects against skin cancer
-Stimulates production of collage which reduces appearance of age spots and other signs of aging caused by sun exposure

Ingredients List:
-Purified water
-Mineral oil
-White petrolatum
-Retinyl palmitate
-Glaxal cream base
*Contains no preservatives, use within 6 months from opening

Packaging:
The Cloud Vitamin Cream comes in squeeze tube with an airless pump. Each pump dispenses enough product for one face application and the tube contains 100 pumps.

How to use:
Apply one to two pumps to cleansed, wet skin (helps product spread better and uses less product). If you plan on spending prolonged time under the sun, add a traditional sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. The product can be used on the face, neck, arm, and legs.
Formulation & Result:
The Cloud Vitamin Cream has a thick, sunscreen-like texture, which is why it should be applied on wet skin to help the product spread and absorb better. The cream has virtually no scent and absorbs quickly, leaving the skin with a natural, non-greasy finish. I like the fact that it's lightweight and comfortable on the skin but I don't like the idea of having to wear a sunscreen over it (as suggested by Dr. Telford) if I am going to be out in the sun for extended periods of time.
I like the promises of sun damage reversal but I've only used this product a few times so I can't really attest to those. Overall I feel like this product almost belongs to the anti-aging category as opposed to the sun protection category, it's something that takes time to see the benefits of.
