A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending an Almay Picnic event here in Vancouver. I, along with a few other local bloggers and vloggers had the opportunity to brush up on our makeup skills with Almay's fabulous National Trainer Jacquie Hutchinson, who gave us some great tips on how to achieve that fresh and simple Almay look.

Before I jump into the giveaway, I wanted to share a few pictures from the event. The "picnic" was held inside a quaint little cafe in Gastown (rainy Vancouver weather never cooperates) and we were treated with yummy sandwiches and homey cookies. There was even a DIY mimosa station!
The seatings in the cafe were set up so all of us were facing our makeup guru Jacquie, who demonstrated exactly how to use each of the products I am now going to tell you about:
Healthy & Glowy Complexion:
To moisturize and prime the face for foundation, use one to two pumps of this primer to help correct discoloration. The subtle pink color helps add luminosity to the skin, making the complexion look healthier and more radiant.
Formulated with shade-sensing beads, this lightweight foundation will adjust to your natural skintone! It blends on smoothly and provides a beautiful, even coverage.
❋ Jacquie's Tip: Makeup sponges and brushes tend to absorb a lot of products so use your fingers to apply foundation for fuller coverage. Make sure to apply the foundation over the lids of the eye and under the eyes, this helps to prime the lids and cuts down the need of a concealer.
This bronzer is made up of three distinct shades so it will give the skin just the right shade of glow. There is a micro-shimmer that when applied on the skin gives only a natural radiance but not full-on shimmers.
❋ Jacquie's Tip: Apply this product all over the face, yes, ALL OVER THE FACE, for a natural and healthy glow. (Trust Jacquie, this actually works!)

Intense i-Color Smoky Shadow Kit (for Brown Eyes):
The Intense i-Color Smoky Shadow Kits come in four different shade combinations, each designed for a different eye color. The palette is designed in a way that it shows exactly where to place each shadow color. The pigmentation of shadows is incredible and the product applies very smoothly as well.
❋ Jacquie's Tip: Utilize the magic of optical illusion. Concentrate the darker colors on areas you want to bring back and the light colors on areas you want to bring forward. For Asian eyes that means bringing the dark brown higher up to create the illusion of a deeper crease.
Intense i-Color Liquid Liner (for Brown Eyes):
This one is a beautiful semi-metallic purple liner. The formulation is very rich and pigmented. I personally would never go for a purple liner but this looks surprisingly flattering on me!
The formulation I really like as well, once set it is smudge proof and water resistant.
❋ Jacquie's Tip: Gently pull the lid taut when applying liquid liner to help create a straight and even line.
Intense i-Color Volumizing Mascara (Plum for Brown Eyes):
Formulated with "eye-brightening" crystals, this volumizing mascara not only doubles the volume of the lashes but also complements the color of the eyes. I found this mascara to be quite volumizing but the formulation didn't hold my curls very well.

Moisturized & Shiny Lips:
Infused with vitamin E and avocado oil, this liquid lip balm has a super lightweight formulation and it gives a sheer wash of color as well. Here is a picture of my finished look using all the Almay products mentioned above. Applying the bronzer lightly all over the face actually does conders to the complexion!
