For Summer 2014, Sally Hansen releases a range of new limited edition Xtreme Wear polishes called the Rio Collection ($3.49 each). The collection includes eight colorful matte glitter toppers that are perfect over any base color. I have swatches of "Carnival" and "Splash" for y'all today, to see more pictures and my review, click.......
Carnival:
This one is a combination of matte black, white, blue, red, and yellow mini hexagon glitters suspended in a clear base. I paired it with "Liya's Nude" from L'Oréal, a taupy greige. The clear base is a bit thin and there isn't as much glitter in the formulation as I would prefer, so not a lot of glitters come out when I try to apply the polish. I used two coats over the base color; the finish is very shiny.

Formulation-wise this one is identical to Carnival, except that the matte glitters in this one are white, light blue, and dark blue. I used two coats over "Eva's Nude" from L'Oréal.

I am a huge fan of matte glitters so I was quite excited for this collection; however, I found the formulation to be a little too thin and sparse to get a good distribution of glitters. With that said though, the glitter combination of Carnival and a few other polishes from the collection is very unique so these are still definitely worth checking out.
Are you a fan of matte glitters or do you prefer your glitter topper to be glitzy and shiny? Let me know in the comments below, thanks for reading!
