There is a new skin/hair care brand on the market called the North American Hemp Co.. 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and Canadian-based, North American Hemp Co. carries a wide range of hair, body, and skincare products that are sulfate and paraben free. I had a chance to try several of their products and today I will be talking about the Soak It Up Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner, Area 369 Serum, and the Omega Deep Rich Conditioning Treatment.

Soak It Up Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner:
What it promises:
-Hydrates hair
-Repair split ends
-Removes pollution/styling product build-ups
-Adds shine
Key Ingredients:
-Omega fatty acids
-Chamomile extract
-Thermal algae extract
My Thoughts:
The shampoo has a nice and subtle herbal/floral scent. The formulation feels pretty standard to me; it lathered well and left the hair feeling very clean and fresh but other than that it didn't stand out to me as a very special product.
The conditioner has a pump dispenser and it also has a mild herbal scent. I found the formulation to be a bit too thin for my liking. It still leaves the hair feeling silkier and smoother but I wish it was more nourishing. Overall, the formulation didn't wow me.
Area 369 Hair Serum:
What it promises:
-Seals hair cuticles
-Provides extra shine
Key Ingredients:
-Vitamin E
-Omega 3, 6, 9
-Silicones
My Thoughts:
I used this on the tip of my hair after using the shampoo and conditioner and noticed it worked very well at helping my hair retain moisture through the day. My split ends are less fussy and my hair just feels smoother. This actually gives very similar results as the argan oil/macadamia oils I usually use in my hair even though the formulations are quite different; the silicones surprisingly doesn't weigh my hair down (as long as I used just the right amount).
Omega Deep Rich Conditioning Treatment:
What it is:
-Restorative treatment that moisturizes and conditions
-Use daily as a conditioner or weekly as an overnight hair mask
Key Ingredients:
-Hemp seed oil
-Omega 3, 6, 9
-Thermal algae extract
-Cornflower extract
-Sesame seed extract
My Thoughts:
Now this is my kind of conditioner. The formulation of this is very rich; it's so rich that it's almost solid. I had to scoop out the product with my hands! Compared to the Soak It Up Moisturizing Conditioner, the Omega Deep Rich Conditioning Treatment left the hair feeling noticeably softer and silkier. The only downside with this one is that it comes in a much smaller 50mL jar, so it's not really ideal for everyday use, unless you are willing to invest the money. Overall though, this was my favorite out of the four!
Overall:
The Soak It Up Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner are both decent products but they are not special enough to stand out from all the shampoos and conditioners on the market.
The Area 369 Hair Serum is a nice alternative to the more pricey Moroccan and Macadamia Hair Oils. The Omega Deep Rich Conditioning Treatment is such a luxurious treat for the hair and it's the product I would recommend the most!
