Recently, I had the opportunity to try out a few new makeup releases from Ruby Cosmetique, a Canadian online makeup boutique based in Quebec. What it is:
-High shine lipgloss formulated with Vitamin E
-Slightly tacky texture ensures long lasting color and shine
Packaging:
The lipgloss comes in a traditional plastic tube with a simple doe-foot applicator.
Scent:
On the Ruby Cosmetique website the glosses are said to be fragrance free. However, the lipgloss I received actually has a quite noticeable vanilla scent which I love.
Pigmentation & Formulation:
The shade "Huetopia" is a sheer shimmer free neutral lipgloss leaning slightly coral. On the lips it gives only the slightest hint of color, which looks very natural. As stated in the product description, the lip gloss does have a tacky texture, which indeed helps the product stay on longer. However, I personally am not a fan of sticky lipglosses because they don't feel comfortable on the lips and my hair is constantly getting stuck on to my lips.
So if you would forfeit comfort for longevity, then this line of lipglosses from Ruby is perfect for you, but if you prefer comfort over wear, perhaps check out the Ruby Lipglazes, a line of lip gloss that has a smooth, non-sticky formulation.
What it is:
-Powder blushes with an almost cream like texture
-Silky and lightweight texture glides smoothly over skin and provides long lasting color
Packaging:
The blush comes in a black compact with a twist off lid.
Pigmentation & Formulation:
The color Orgasmic is a beautiful rosy peach with super fine golden shimmers. I am assuming this is meant to be a dupe for NARS Orgasm but Ruby Orgasmic is more peachy than Orgasm.
The pigmentation is very impressive and a little goes a long, long way. The blush has a creamy texture and applies and blends beautifully. Overall, I am a huge fan of this blush, it gives such a natural and beautiful glow to the skin.

What it is:
-A creamy and richly pigmented lipstick formulated with Vitamin E
-Long lasting matte finish
Packaging:
The lipstick comes in a simple cuboidal matte black lipstick tube with the Ruby logo printed in matte silver.
Scent:
The lipstick has a very noticeable vanilla fragrance.
Pigmentation & Formulation:
The color "Ruby Ruby" is a classic neutral red with a true matte finish. The formulation of this particular shade is definitely not as creamy and slick as most other lipsticks I have tried but because it has a "harder" texture, the color lasts very well. Once it's applied, it is virtually transfer-proof and smudge-free, which is super impressive for a shade as bold as this. The matte finish is super classy and the lipstick isn't overly drying.
I am very impressed by the quality of all three products I tried. I personally found the lipgloss a little too tacky but I would definitely recommend both the blush and the lipstick. The blush is available in a total of nine shades and the lipstick comes in two other finishes (creamy and high gloss) in 28 shades.
