Hello everyone! I'm Laura from Beyond Blush, and I'll be guest posting here today. The Canadian Beauty Bloggers have decided to focus on transitions to warmer weather as our May guest post theme. I thought it'd be a good idea to talk about my go-to hair styling products for the hot, humid Summer months. I know that Jasmine & I have quite different hair types, so hopefully I'll be able to help out some of her wavy-haired readers!
I have very thick, dry hair that has a natural wave to it, and it can get quite frizzy. Add in heat and humidity my hair can just be a disaster. To help tame frizz and guard against humidity, I love using Garnier Fructis' Anti-Humidity Smoothing Milk. This is a light creamy products that I apply to damp hair before styling. I love how this helps to tame frizz without leaving my hair feeling or looking greasy. To give my waves a bit more of a bounce, I like to use John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Curl Reviver Styling Mousse. This mousse is light-weight, helps tame frizz, and doesn't make my hair feel crunchy. I always use a mousse if I'll be wearing my hair naturally wavy, which is most days.
I also love the look of beachy waves in the Summer months. I have two go-to products to help achieve this look. First up: Shu Uemura's Liquid Fabric. I love how this spray-in product enhances my wavy hair, and gives me more of a bouncy, beachy look. I also love Bumble and Bumble's Surf Spray, which is a sea salt spray that gives a great bounce and piecey texture to my hair. I find that this product is easier to use than Shu Uemura's offering. Shu's formula can be easily overdone, whereas Bumble and Bumble's formula is more forgiving, and doesn't leave my hair feeling too gritty. Surf Spray can be used on damp or dry hair, making it super versatile.
If you have a similar hair type to myself then I would highly recommend checking out these products, they really help to keep my hair looking good all Summer long. I would love to know what products you love to use in the hot humid Summer months, and if you've tried out any of these favorites of mine!
