Hey guys, today I have a fun post for y'all featuring a couple of Clarins makeup products that are perfect for Spring. Check out the new Clarins Multi-Blush Cream Compact ($30 CAD) and the Joli Rouge Brillant Perfect Shine Sheer Lipstick ($27 CAD)......Clarins Multi-Blush Cream Compact in "Grenadine" ($30 CAD for 4g):
What it is:
-A cream to powder blush
-Lightweight formulation includes rose, mimosa, jojoba, and sunflower floral waxes that protect skin from dehydration
-Blendable and buildable
-The product is also wearable on the lips for a matte, powdered finish
Packaging:
The cream blush is housed in a very luxurious but lightweight shiny gold compact. There is a tiny "c" engraved on the lid.
Pigmentation & Texture:
"Grenadine" is a beautiful coral with gold shimmers. When applied on the cheeks the shimmer becomes unnoticeable. The formula is very lightweight and turns to a powder texture when applied to the skin. I found this to be quite similar to the new Make Up For Ever HD Cream Blushes (the Clarins one has a better value though).
Longevity:
Like most cream to powder blushes, the Clarins blush lasted about four to five hours on my cheeks before fading. The shorter wear time is most likely due to my oily skin so for those with dry to normal skin, there should be no issues with the wear.
Pros:
-Lightweight formula that blends very well
-Natural but buildable pigmentation
Cons:
-Shorter wear time for oily skin

Joli Rouge Brilliant Perfect Shine Sheer Lipstick in Tropical Pink (left); Multi-Blush Cream Blush Compact in Grenadine (right). |
What it is:
-A lipstick that combines the shine and sheerness of a lip gloss and the creaminess of a lipstick
-Formulated with mango butter, the lipstick provides comfort and moisturization
Packaging:
The lipstick comes in a oval shaped silver tube. The lipstick has a nice weight to it which makes it feel very luxurious.
Pigmentation & Texture:
The color "Tropical Pink" is actually quite similar to the "Grenadine"; it's a very flattering coral with specks of subtle silver shimmer. The lipstick is sheer but the pigmentation is definitely buildable. The formulation feels very balm-like, very comfortable and moisturizing. The lipstick also has a fruity scent and a satin finish.
Longevity:
Because of the balmy formulation and the sheer color, the wear of the lipstick is not great, but this is pretty standard for sheer lip colors like these.
Pro:
-Moisturizing formula
-Buildable color
Cons:
-Short wear time
Here are the products worn on the cheeks/lips. Both colors are so natural and perfect for spring!
Availability:
Clarins products are available online and in various department stores nationwide.
