Essence Colour & Go Nail Polish in "The Green & The Grunge"; Essence Stays No Matter What Eyepencil & Shadow in "Garden Green" |
What it claims:
-Lasts up to 16 hours
-Waterproof
-Works as both an eyeliner and an eyeshadow
-Smudge-proof
-Applies smoothly
Pigmentation & Texture:
"Garden Green" is a gorgeous shade of dark metallic green, this shadow pencil applies very smoothly and is richly pigmented. I used it to draw a thick line along my upper lash line and then dabbed my eyeliner brush into the pencil tip. I then used the eyeliner brush to do a flick to create a winged look. So yes, the product is very versatile and can definitely be used as both a liner and a shadow.
Longevity:
The product is waterproof but it isn't completely smudge-proof. It lasted reasonably well and feels comfortable on the lids.
Pros:
-Good pigmentation
-Smooth application
-Long lasting (though probably not up to 16 hours)
Cons:
-Needs large barrel sharpener to sharpen; not twistable
Overall:
Given that the product is only $2.99, it is definitely worth picking up. I even found these better than the Urban Decay 24/7 Shadow Pencils in terms of longevity.
Two coats, no top coat. |
A beautiful dark green, "The Green & The Grunge" was incredibly pigmented and self leveling. I used two coats for the photos and the drying time was indeed super quick. To top things off, the finish was also very shiny! This color is a great dupe for Julep's Popova in case anyone was in search of a cheaper alternative.
I have tried the color "L.O.L" from the Colour & Go range in the past and that one was a bit of a miss. However, this is definitely a shade I would recommend from the Colour & Go line!
