Skincare Essentials from Megan Joy: March Canadian Beauty Bloggers Guest Post

Happy sunday everyone! Today I have a guest post on skincare essentials from the lovely Megan, a fellow member of the Canadian Beauty Bloggers (CBB). If you are interested in what she uses every day to achieve beautiful skin (spoiler alert: there is a lot of Lush), keep on reading!

Hi everyone, I'm Megan from MeganJoy.ca and I am super excited to be guest blogging on The Happy Sloths. I discovered Jasmine's blog a few months ago and I've been coming back daily ever since. She has some of the most beautiful nail swatches I've ever seen!
Today I'm going to be taking you through my daily skincare routine! I have rosacea and sensitive skin that is usually dry but sometimes combination depending on the season. These products are definitely tailored towards sensitive skin, which basically means they are good for everyone. As a beauty blogger I change up my skincare regimen fairly often while trying out new things, but these are the staples that I always come back to time and time again.
Morning:
Left to right: Lush Celestial MoisturizerLush Eau Roma WaterLush Angels on Bare SkinLush Enchanted Eye Cream
So...I like Lush. A lot. I've found some things that just really work, so why mess with a good thing? :)
I start my day off with Angels on Bare Skin, which is a cleanser that contains ground almonds and lavender to exfoliate the skin. It also has kaolin clay, lavender oil and rose absolute balance and reduce redness. I just started using this cleanser a few weeks ago and it has already replaced my other Lush morning cleanser! My skin feels dewy and hydrated afterwards.
Next up is toner! I like the Eau Roma because it only has two ingredients - rose water and lavender water. It helps with dryness, redness or irritation.
I follow up with the Enchanted Eye Cream which is light but still hydrating. It's creates a nice canvas for my under-eye concealer.
Finally, I use my all time favourite moisturizer - Celestial. This stuff smells like sugar cookies. SO YUMMY! It has almond milk, vanilla water and other super soothing and gentle ingredients. It's light enough to use in the morning under foundation but it also keeps my skin from becoming dehydrated.
Night:
Left to right: Lush Ocean Salt ScrubMarcelle Ultra Gentle CleanserLush Aqua Marina CleanserKeihl's Wrinkle Reducing Eye CreamLush Full Of Grace Serum Bar
I wear quite a bit of makeup so sometimes I need a makeup remover and a cleanser at night. I start off with the new Marcelle cleansing gel to remove my makeup, this does a good job of removing eye makeup as well. I sometimes need to rub a bit to get stubborn mascara off but it doesn't irritate my skin.

I follow that up with the Aqua Marina cleanser which contains seaweed and calamine lotion! Sometimes I skip this step, but I like to use Aqua Marina if my skin is particularly irritated because it helps to reduce redness.

Twice a week I use the Ocean Salt scrub which is a coconut cream and sea salt scrub. You can use it all over your body too which is great! It helps get rid of black heads and leaves skin feeling super soft. I have to rub gently though, the pieces of salt are large and can irritate skin on my face if I apply too much pressure.
Next up is eye cream! I like applying something thicker and more deep conditioning and right now I'm using the Keihl's Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream. It doesn't do a lot for wrinkles but it does leave my eye area feeling super hydrated.
Finally I apply the Full of Grace Serum Bar (also from Lush, no surprise) by rubbing it between my hands for a few seconds until it starts to melt, then applying to my face. The tropical butters, calming chamomile and antioxidant mushroom extract create a silky smooth serum that has replaced my night cream recently. It's also preservative-free!
I hope you enjoyed my my first guest post as much as I enjoyed writing it! All of the other ladies from the Canadian Beauty Bloggers network have done guest posts too, all with their own take on the theme of "Skin Care Essentials". Be sure to check them out, they are listed below! Thanks to Jasmine for letting me share her little corner of the internet today!
