What the lipsticks promises:
-Vivid color in one swipe
-Ultra smooth application
-Long lasting finish
Packaging:
The lipstick is packaged in what is arguably the most intricate lipstick tube ever designed. The case is glossy and black, and along its sides are raised hearts and swirly patterns (kind of gothic). The bottom of the tube features a beautiful three dimensional rose. The whole thing is so beautiful and detailed it looks like it could have been hand carved.
Pigmentation & Application:
"306" (I really wish these were given beautiful names to match the packaging) is a gorgeous plummy rose that is very pigmented and lightweight. The formulation of these lipsticks are quite thin, almost gel-like, and glides beautifully across the lips. "306" truly packs a punch of color so I only need one swipe on the lips. The color is very natural and the lipstick feels delightfully comfortable on the lips!
Here is a lip swatch, I have been wearing this lipstick quite a lot for the past week. The color is very easy to pull off and because it's not too bold, I don't need to apply it with a lip liner. The lipstick also has a subtle rose scent!Longevity:
The wear of this lipstick is its only drawback. "304" transfers fairly easily and pretty much disappears after four hours or after light drinking/eating. I think the shorter wear time is mostly due to its lightweight formulation; albeit comfortable, it doesn't cling to the lips to provide a long wear time.
Pros:
-Unique and intricate packaging design
-Very pigmented
-Super lightweight
-Comfortable and moisturizing
-Great everyday color that doesn't require a lip liner to apply
-Subtle rosy scent
Cons:
-Short wear time
Overall:
This lipstick is very beautiful (inside and out) and "304" is a great everyday color with a pigmented and comfortable formulation. Though a little pricy, I recommend at least adding one of these Anna Sui lipsticks to your collection!
