Hey everyone, Happy Friday, I hope your Boxing Day went well! I dropped by the mall in the morning and it was so crowded. Some stores were too full to go in and others had line ups to enter. It got way too hectic so I left the place in less than an hour......
Anyhow, today I have two super gorgeous scatter holographic nail polishes from L.A. Girl! To check out some swatches (the sun was out for a day in Vancouver) and my review, click......
Black Illusion:"Black Illusion" is a gorgeous black semi-jelly cream polish filled with holographic micro-glitter. I used two coats for the swatches. The polish dried fairly quickly and the holographic effect is very strong under bright sunlight.
Overall this is a gorgeous color, the formula was very easy to work with but I suggest using a base coat to prevent any staining as darker colors tend to leave behind a stain.
Purple Effect:
This polish is a warm grape purple jelly filled with holographic micro-glitters. I used one normal and one thick coats to attain full coverage. The holographic effect is even stronger than that of "Black Illusion" since the finish is a little more translucent.
The formula, again, was very easy to work with and dried fairly quickly. "Purple Effect" is a very good purple dupe for Orly's "Miss Conduct" (see swatches here).
Overall, these polishes were amazing both color-wise and formula-wise. The quality and holographic effects of these are very much on par with those $12+ indie polishes everyone seem to go crazy for!
Availability:
Each polish is sold for $5 online (free shipping for orders $25 or more) and in American drugstores such as Right Aid. I am not completely certain if these are sold in Canadian drugstores as none of my local stores carry them, but do let me know in the comments if you have spotted them before!
Anyhow, that's all for today, do you have a love for holographic polishes? What's your favorite, let me know in the comments below!
