Happy Monday! Are you winding down after the hectic holiday season or are you busy making plans for New Year's Eve? Personally I have been moping around a lot, not looking forward to the beginning of the new school term as I am taking a couple of yucky courses that I have been trying to put off. But since I will be graduating in May, I kind of have to get them done now....
Anyhow, today I have a lovely product called the CC Colour Control Pressed Powder ($16.95) from Annabelle to show you guys, to read my review and see how well it works, click......
Packaging:
The CC Colour Control Pressed Powder from Annabelle comes in a shiny, two-compartment plastic black compact. The upper compartment holds 8g of the pressed powder, which is formulated with vitamin E and antioxidants. The separator of the two compartment has a mirror on the underside facing the second compartment, which holds a mini powder brush. I like the idea of including a brush for those on the go but the quality of the brush isn't that great and sheds quite a bit. So for me personally, I would have preferred a sleeker, single compartment compact.
Formulation & Performance:
The product promises to neutralize redness and reduce dull or uneven complexion, leaving a matte finish. The powder provides light to medium coverage and is nice and finely milled. I use it mostly along my jawline, nose, and forehead after applying primer and concealer to my trouble areas. I find that the product gives me a nice and even complexion as it provides more coverage than normal setting powders.
It leaves a matte finish but its oil absorbing property isn't as great as setting powders specially formulated for oily skin; it kept my skin shine free for about three hours. However, it does a very good job of minimizing the looks of pores without leaving a heavy or cake-y feeling.
The color I received is Medium/Dark, which is not the color I would have picked for myself (I am NC20) but surprisingly the color fits me very well!
Here is a before and after shot. In the before shot I am only wearing the Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer (reviewed here). The skin on my forehead is doing something pretty funky these couple of days so that's why I have a bunch of red bumps all along my brow area. But as you can see the powder definitely reduces redness and gives a more even complexion.
Overall, I love this pressed powder, it is very good for those looking for some matte light coverage. Annabelle Cosmetic products are availble in most Canadian drugstores and it is sold online as well (Annabelle ships to both Canada and the US).
