St. Ives Green Tea Scrub:
My first ever St. Ives product was the Green Tea Scrub, introduced to me by my mom's friend who swears by it. And boy was she right about this stuff. This scrub contains 1% salicylic acid and promises to "clear breakouts and smooth skin". Now I don't know if it really clears breakouts that well, but this is a darn good scrub. The scrub consists of tiny hydrated silica bits that provide a really gentle but thorough buffing of the skin; it has a very mild green tea scent and a slight cooling sensation on the skin. After using it, my skin definitely feels smoother.
St. Ives Apricot Scrub:
This exfoliating apricot scrub uses crushed walnut shells instead of hydrated silica as the scrubbing agent. It does feel a tad rougher on the skin, but I actually like this better when I want a nice scrubbing. This can be used both on the face and the body, which you can't really do with the green tea scrub (it's too fine to use on the body). This scrub smells lovely as well, like a jar of creamy apricots!
I saw a few reviews online saying that the scrubs are drying and too coarse for the face, so I just want to note here that I have combination to oily skin. I have a lot of blemishes and bumps on my face, and I don't have sensitive skin. I feel like skincare can be a real hit or miss depending on the person, and that's why drugstore brands like St. Ives is so great because if it doesn't work for you, it is not a big loss because it was only a few bucks wasted.
Hope my review was helpful, I do hope you check these out because like I said, these are my holy grail of facial scrubs!
