The theme for the February 2013 bag was Red Carpet Ready. This is my second bag with Ipsy and the January one was amazing. I loved everything in it. However, this month was not as exciting. Every Ipsy bag comes with about 5 samples and a makeup bag to go along with them.
In this months bag there was a set of 4 Lash Cards, a Pop Beauty mascara, a Pixi Flawless and Poreless primer, 4 Costal Scents mini shadows and a Mica gel liner.
The MICA gel eyeliner was probably the highlight of the bag, the product applies well and stays on well. If you have oily lids then a primer will help with this. The product is highly pigmented and creates very dramatic looks.
Pixi Flawless and Poreless is a face primer applied before foundation. Personally I do not feel like it does much for my skin, I hardly even wear foundation any more. I didn't find anything that makes it a huge stand-out from any other foundation primers I've tried.
The Costal Scents shadows were much smaller than I thought they would be, they are about the size of a penny. Despite being small, they were highly pigmented. There were 2 possible color sets in this month's bag and I got the golden toned ones. The colors are nice, I am thinking of ways to incorporate them altogether.
The Pop Beauty mascara and the Lash Cards were probably the worst products in the bag. I found the mascara didn't do anything to my lashes, no fullness or length was added. If anything it felt like it took away the fullness I have naturally. Furthermore the Lash Cards are just cardboard pieces to help apply mascara and are not a necessity for me for my daily routine.
Although this bag wasn't as impressive as last month, judging by the sneak peeks for March it seems that Ipsy has a future in being one of the better beauty box subs.
